Sr Territorial Marketing Manager – Workers' Compensation
– Zenith Insurance Company (United States) Eligible to work from the San Diego or Orange, CA Branches and participate in a hybrid work schedule allowing select days of remote work. Responsible for developing and managing the distribution force for an assigned territory. Duties include agency prospecting, appointments, relationship management, and, when necessary, termination. Train agents on Zenith’s market, underwriting appetite, capabilities, advantages, products, and services. Collaborate with agents to shape submission flow, ensuring acceptable hit ratios and efficiencies. Lead the sales process for new and renewal business in partnership with underwriting and other departments. Support pricing and selection disciplines, actively seek profitable growth opportunities, and enhance customer experience. Monitor competition and broaden relationships between Zenith, agents, and policyholders. Distribution Management
Manage assigned agents and territory tactically with strategic leadership expectations. Assess territory to uncover opportunities and challenges for profitable growth. Develop a strategic plan with regional management; ensure proper agency representation. Build a territory of agents positioned to write profitable business with a valuable policyholder base. Maintain knowledge of the profile, book, sales approach, capabilities, competition, and key players for each appointed agency. Manage agreements with agencies, including contracts, coding, tiering, compensation, and contact information. Sales Leadership
Work with agents to develop qualified business flow. Create and maintain a pipeline of prospects, niches, and books. Prequalify submissions. Promote Zenith’s small business plan. Train agents on systems, tools, and processes. Lead the sales process collaboratively with management, underwriting, and other departments to acquire and retain desirable business. Position Zenith as the market of choice with agents and prospects. Encourage early engagement with new and renewal accounts. Assist agents in presenting the value of programs and services to policyholders. Resolve customer or service issues that hinder sales outcomes. Track agency performance, adjust plans to ensure mutually profitable relationships. Gather competitive intelligence for optimal market positioning. Advance the Zenith Brand
Educate agents on products, capabilities, and brand selling techniques. Promote Zenith’s benefits and value proposition. Collaborate with management on agency orientations, training, and joint sales calls. Target next-generation producers and agency staff. Promote Zenith through industry events, agency and policyholder associations. Suggest new or advanced marketing materials. Work with National Marketing & Communications on development. Foster teamwork, relationships, and the customer experience. Improve agency/policyholder experience by resolving service roadblocks. Participate in regional account management and support underwriting in policyholder issue resolution. Build deep relationships with agents, policyholders, and associations. Facilitate connections between agents/policyholders and Zenith leadership. Collaborate with underwriting and other departments. Apply logical thinking to define problems and draw conclusions. Work productively with others consistently. Respond positively to feedback and maintain a professional demeanor. Perform other duties or projects as assigned. Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. 7–10 years of insurance industry experience with a working knowledge of workers’ compensation underwriting. Proven leadership and sales skills. Proven strategic and tactical execution capabilities. Demonstrated influence management skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to present ideas effectively in formal and informal settings. Comfortable with public presentations. Positive, upbeat, and enthusiastic daily attitude. Team player. Valid driver’s license in good standing. Salary range:
$117,227.26 – $146,534.08. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Benefits
