Bridging, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, empowers people to thrive in their homes by providing quality furniture and household goods for those pursuing housing stability. Bridging gives hope – and for many, a leap toward stability for the first time. With locations in Roseville and Bloomington, Bridging is driven by volunteers and donations of basic home essential items from the community. Since its founding in 1987, Bridging has served more than,000 households (300,000+ individuals) and reduces landfill space by ~11 million pounds each year. POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: As Bridging’s
Marketing and Communications Manager , you will lead and implement strategic marketing and communication initiatives that strengthen Bridging’s brand, elevate its public image, and foster meaningful engagement with community partners, funders, and volunteers. You will plan and oversee communication strategies that promote Bridging's services via various communication mediums, develop effective messaging, and implement all marketing strategies and public relations activities both externally and internally. Primary responsibilities: Develop and implement integrated communication and marketing strategies that align with Bridging’s mission, vision, values, and growth goals. Create, design, and distribute consistent messaging across all internal and external channels (including and not limited to: e‑newsletters, media advisories, annual report, blogs, and featured stories). Manage Bridging’s website, social media, and other brand platforms, ensuring timely, relevant, and engaging content with strong SEO performance. Design and produce marketing materials and graphics to increase brand engagement and visibility. Coordinate and execute marketing strategies, budgets, publicity, advertising, and media relations. Create and manage marketing/communication calendar in partnership with the Director of Development. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance engagement and effectiveness. Develop and execute compelling media‑focused content, including press releases and media pitches, and stories to TV/radio, media outlets, and print publications. Establish and execute strategic marketing plans integrating print and digital efforts. Monitor and report on campaign performance using analytics tools to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies. Promote company events and guide external vendors for the smooth execution of marketing initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Direct Reports Part‑time Communications Coordinator Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, graphic design, or a related field; five or more years of relevant experience in non‑profit marketing and communications. Proven success managing brand, marketing, and communication strategies within a mission‑driven organization. Experience supervising direct reports or managing projects across departments, strongly preferred. You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and proven social media, email marketing (MailChimp preferred), website management (WordPress preferred), and networking expertise, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt messaging for diverse audiences. You are knowledgeable in Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Dreamweaver, and comfortable with web design, HTML, and CSS. Experience with video editing software, data analytics, Google Analytics, and digital photography is highly valued. Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Have demonstrated experience with time management, competing workloads, and prioritization. Passion for engaging diverse communities and advancing Bridging's mission through creative storytelling. Experience in mission‑driven and non‑profit organizations with a focus on community impact, and a strong commitment to DEIB. Ability to work some evenings and weekends, based on organizational events and media/PR opportunities. Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance to attend off‑site meetings and community events. Seniority level
