Business Development and Marketing Specialist – Regulatory and Enforcement
Join Sidley Austin LLP as a BD and Marketing Specialist, partnering with assigned practice and industry groups to develop strategy, execute business development pursuits, marketing campaigns, client events, and cross‑selling initiatives.
Base Pay Range $95,000.00/yr – $118,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Lead project management of RFPs and pitches for assigned groups and others.
Conduct matter research, write proposals, and produce tailored RFI/RFP responses.
Support follow‑up, debrief, and reporting post‑pitch.
Assist practice/industry leadership in planning and coordination of marketing and client development plans.
Contribute to practice/industry group meetings and planning sessions.
Develop and maintain business development infrastructure—written collateral, experience database, contact lists, opportunity tracking.
Track and analyze practice/industry initiatives and manage BD budget.
Coordinate with Market Intelligence to conduct industry, client, and competitive research.
Plan, implement, and follow up on new business or cross‑marketing opportunities.
Lead drafting and submission of rankings, awards, surveys, league tables.
Collaborate with Regional BD and Marketing team to plan client programs and Sidley‑sponsored events.
Partner with Communications and PR to identify thought leadership topics and media commentary.
Facilitate the involvement of firm lawyers in professional organizations that enhance visibility.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Minimum five years of professional marketing, business development, or related experience.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Preferred
Experience in a law firm or professional services organization.
Working knowledge of customer relationship, pipeline, and experience management databases such as InterAction, Salesforce, Foundation.
Familiarity with relevant company/market research tools and law firm rankings, awards, and league table publications.

Good judgment and strong interpersonal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
