Position Summary The Sales Manager is responsible for driving event sales, building strong client relationships, and ensuring the successful planning and execution of audiovisual services for internal and external events. This role serves as a key liaison between hotel partners, clients, and the Five‑Star operations team to ensure a seamless experience from initial consultation through event completion.

The Sales Manager combines strong consultative sales skills with a deep understanding of event technology, ensuring clients receive the right solutions to achieve their event goals while maximizing revenue opportunities for the property.

Reports To: Director, Event Productions

Responsibilities & Duties Sales & Client Development

Maximize revenue opportunities through a consultative approach with clients, planners, and hotel partners.

Conduct telephone and written correspondence to understand client goals, technical needs, and event requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel sales teams, catering staff, and convention services to align on upcoming meetings and conventions.

Utilize meeting diagrams, the Five‑Star computerized billing system, and marketing materials to create clear, compelling sales presentations.

Serve as the primary Five‑Star representative during group arrival or pre‑event interactions.

Negotiate pricing when necessary to secure business while maintaining profitability.

Identify upsell opportunities and present creative technology enhancements to elevate the client experience.

Create accurate proposals and agreements that clearly define scope, pricing, and expectations.

Maintain detailed CRM and sales files to track leads, future bookings, and account history.

Develop and cultivate long‑term relationships with VIP and repeat clients.

Event Planning & Execution

Participate in site inspections, pre‑conference meetings, and post‑event reviews.

Consult with clients to produce materials such as presentations, signage, marketing assets, and environmental enhancements.

Anticipate client needs and minimize service challenges through proactive communication and detailed planning.

Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to execution.

Supervise event execution when needed to ensure the final product meets both client expectations and Five‑Star standards.

Review final billing with clients, confirm accuracy, and obtain approval of all audiovisual charges.

Follow up post‑event with thank‑you communication and service evaluations to secure long‑term loyalty.

Hotel & Partner Engagement

Work closely with hotel sales and convention services to support group business and ensure AV integration aligns with property goals.

Maintain an active presence on‑site to support partner initiatives and strengthen relationships.

Represent Five‑Star AudioVisual during walkthroughs, client visits, and hotel event showcases.

Professionalism & Standards

Maintain a high level of professional appearance, ethics, and conduct, reflecting both Five‑Star and hotel brand standards.

Follow all company rules, policies, and sales procedures.

Continuously uphold Five‑Star’s commitment to hospitality‑first service and exceptional client experiences.

Qualifications

Proven track record in AV sales, event production, hospitality sales, or related field.

Strong knowledge of audiovisual equipment, event technology, and live event production.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build and sustain strong client and hotel partner relationships.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.

Experience working in a hotel or resort environment preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and event management tools.
