Junior Interior Designer
We’re looking for a Junior Designer to join our boutique interior design studio in Los Angeles, CA. The right candidate is organized, design-focused, and eager to grow within a creative environment that values initiative and attention to detail.
Position Details
Hybrid: 1 day in‑office + site visits as needed
Part‑Time: ~20 hours/week (flexible based on project needs)
Must have a car and a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
Develop detailed design documentation, including furniture plans, elevations, perspectives, and millwork drawings using AutoCAD or similar software
Prepare clear and comprehensive spec sheets and paint schedules for contractors
Review FF&E selections, verify dimensions, and check shop drawings for accuracy
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and fabricators; communicate design intent under the guidance of Principal Designers
Conduct site visits for measurements and project documentation
Attend client and site meetings; take detailed notes and compile follow‑up action items
Create client presentations, including design boards and floor plans
Assist with the procurement of furnishings, fixtures, and materials across multiple projects using the firm’s digital database
Qualifications
1.5+ years at a high‑end interior design or architecture firm
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting programs
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (preferred)
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Ability to travel to project sites and vendor locations as needed
Reliable, proactive, and self‑motivated
