Base pay range $62,000.00/yr – $83,000.00/yr

Duties and Responsibilities

Educational design is a large part of LaBella's business and leaders are expected to work with clients to discuss goals and objectives in order to provide creative and innovative design solutions. We pride ourselves on partnering with our clients and delivering projects that result in long relationships spanning multiple projects.

Develop interior learning environments that cater to school brand identity, student and staff experience, and safety.

Produce conceptual, technical, and constructable drawings, specifications, and documentation; direct others in these tasks with little assistance.

Teach and mentor junior staff for professional development, delegating and communicating clearly and concisely with minimal assistance.

Ensure creative and innovative design solutions, and promote proficiency and efficiency of interior design team members.

Collaborate within interior design teams, clients, project architects, project managers, marketing, engineering, subconsultants, vendors, and design partners. Communicate verbally and in writing frequently, concisely, with minimal assistance.

Understand and create fee and project budgets; perform project management tasks; deliver projects within budget and client expectations.

Participate in marketing and business development efforts, including production of visual and written proposals and interviews.

Participate in staffing and work planning efforts regularly.

Stay at the forefront of the latest experience design trends, technologies, and concepts to ensure innovative and cutting‑edge solutions.

Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring each project delivers a unique and unforgettable experience.

Occasionally travel may be required.

Requirements Qualifications and Certification

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from a 4‑year CIDA accredited program.

At least 8+ years of commercial interior experience with a concentration in educational environments (K‑12 and/or higher education).

NCIDQ Certification.

State Certification or Registration.

Additional certifications such as ALEP, WBI, and LEED AP are a plus.

Skills and Abilities

Expert proficiency in Revit and experience with AutoCAD.

Advanced understanding of SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite; efficient use a plus.

Advanced leadership and project management skills.

Advanced organizational and time‑management skills.

Advanced understanding of all phases of design and construction.

Ability to work quickly, effectively, efficiently, and within project timelines and budgets; manage support teams accordingly.

Good ability to lead, mentor, and delegate to project teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and people skills.

Well‑developed visualization skills to convey intent of ideas verbally and visually.

Enjoy working in a team setting and sharing knowledge and ideas.

Advanced ability to create constructable technical documents.

Proven experience designing interiors for K‑12 projects.

Creative, forward‑thinking, and passionate about creating immersive experiences.

Salary Range $62,000 – $83,000

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
