About Intuitive Machines Intuitive Machines is an innovative and cutting‑edge space company making cislunar space accessible to public and private customers. Our mission is to further science and exploration, communications, and economic progress from Earth to the Moon and beyond. With the first commercial lunar landing in history and multiple NASA lunar missions in development, we are proud to support our customers and the nation in paving the way to return humans to the Moon surface. Our world‑class team includes experts in all aspects of spacecraft subsystems design, development, and test, on‑orbit operations, and safety.
Responsibilities
Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for avionics cable routing and harness design using CREO or equivalent CAD tools.
Route electrical harnesses between avionics boxes, sensors, and power systems while maintaining proper separation between power and data lines to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Design and document cable restraint systems—including clamps, brackets, and tie‑downs—to ensure mechanical integrity during launch and flight operations.
Ensure all harness paths avoid interference with vehicle structures, mechanisms, and thermal protection systems.
Collaborate closely with avionics, mechanical, and systems engineers to integrate harness designs into the spacecraft configuration.
Support harness assembly documentation, including cable diagrams, routing schematics, and installation procedures.
Participate in design reviews and configuration control processes to ensure quality, manufacturability, and maintainability of the design.
Assist with verification of cable harness routing during spacecraft integration and test.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent hands‑on experience considered.
1–3 years of professional experience in cable routing, harness design, or aerospace hardware design preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software (CREO preferred; experience with CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks acceptable).
Understanding of aerospace wiring and harness design principles, including EMI/EMC considerations, grounding, and shielding.
Knowledge of mechanical integration practices, including cable restraint and harness protection.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex geometry in 3D models.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
