Job Description Meg Lonergan Interiors, a Houston‑based residential interior design firm, seeks a project designer with at least 3–5 years experience in ground‑up new construction and full‑scale renovations to manage and execute all facets of high‑end residential design for projects. As a Designer and Project Manager, you will manage multiple projects from start to finish, taking full accountability down to every detail.
Responsibilities
Design ideation and initial consultations
Drawings and floor‑plan development
Create and manage project budget
Coordinate, attend, and lead client meetings
Construction administration – site supervision with focus on design implementation and quality control; proactive client and contractor communication
Sourcing architectural materials and finishes, furniture, and fittings
Prepare presentations and proposals for client submission
Manage project delivery: coordinate deliveries, storage, purchases and installations in collaboration with Office Manager
Vendor communication
On‑site installation and site visits
Manage project schedules; ensure accuracy, timely installation, and quality for all aspects of remodel and new construction projects
Manage junior designers, interns, and assistants; work with the principal to assign tasks, review, and motivate junior team members; weekly/bi‑weekly update calls
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in ground‑up new construction and full‑scale renovations
Excellent organizational and communication skills; positive attitude; team player who thrives in collaboration and works autonomously when needed
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Knowledge of Studio Designer preferred
Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
