Grant Writer & Strategic Funding Specialist
The Grant Writer & Strategic Funding Specialist will lead the development of compelling proposals and partnerships that align our company’s creative, cultural, and impact‑driven initiatives with external funding opportunities. This role bridges media, events, sustainability, and philanthropy , helping to secure grants and funding that advance initiatives in community development, environmental sustainability, arts and culture, technology innovation, and workforce empowerment.
As we value in‑person collaboration, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely, fostering a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of a comprehensive funding roadmap that aligns with company initiatives, including major events and sustainability projects.
Identify and pursue government, foundation, and corporate funding sources that support creative industries, sustainable development, and cultural innovation.
Collaborate with leadership to define funding priorities and social impact objectives.
Research, write, and submit high‑quality grant proposals, concept papers, and sponsorship applications.
Craft persuasive narratives that demonstrate measurable social, cultural, and economic impact.
Coordinate with internal departments to source data, stories, and budgets.
Cultivate and manage relationships with foundations, government agencies, NGOs, tourism boards, film commissions, and private funders.
Manage reporting and compliance requirements for awarded grants.
Support the development of public‑private partnerships around creative industries, sustainable tourism, and media innovation.
Collaborate with analytics and editorial teams to quantify project outcomes.
Use media brands to communicate impact stories and enhance visibility with funders.
Integrate storytelling and social responsibility messaging across grant deliverables and impact reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s in Communications, Journalism, Business, Public Policy, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, ideally within creative industries, sustainability, or global initiatives.
Demonstrated success securing funding from government agencies (e.g., NEA, NEH, USAID), foundations, or corporate giving programs.
Exceptional writing and storytelling ability, capable of translating complex initiatives into compelling proposals.
Strong organizational and project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Familiarity with funding landscapes for arts, culture, technology, sustainability, and social innovation.
Preferred Experience
Experience developing large‑scale, cross‑sector partnerships that blend commercial and social impact objectives.
Background in creative industries, cultural diplomacy, international development, or corporate social responsibility.
Understanding of sustainability funding mechanisms, especially related to renewable energy, local economic development, and community empowerment.
Knowledge of federal and international grant portals (e.g., Grants.gov, UN/USAID programs, philanthropic databases).
Salary and Benefits
Typical wage range: $95k – $120k. Factors such as your specific skills and years of experience may influence the final offer. Salary expectations should be listed in your application.
