Job Description Under moderate supervision, to perform duties related to the processing of patient and third party payor payments. To prepare and submit vendor payments and patient refund requisitions. To work closely with Patient Financial Services to reconcile patient and third party payor account issues.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate medication approvals for oncology infusion patients, including performing benefits investigation and collaboration with the clinic pharmacists to obtain prior authorizations
Assist patients with the enrollment and utilization of financial assistance programs
Process prescription orders and third‑party payer claims
Coordinate medication deliveries and assist with other patient‑related tasks
Perform longitudinal patient follow‑up along with all necessary documentation for accreditations
Perform and document medication reconciliation
Provide excellent customer service
Qualifications High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of related experience required.
Preferred Qualities
Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) License Preferred.
Ideal candidate possess excellent communication skills, time management abilities, customer service excellence, attention to detail, and strong critical thinking skills. Experience in retail or infusion pharmacy and direct patient interaction is preferred but not required.
