Description Of Work This position will provide Creative and Expressive Arts Services for the patients throughout the hospital. Duties include planning and implementing active treatment groups, documentation of patient’s response to treatment, conducting Rehabilitation Services assessments, Creative/Expressive Arts evaluations upon referral and assisting treatment teams in developing individualized treatment plans. This position may also provide Creative/Expressive Arts activities and/or assist with other special activities as scheduled, may include evenings and weekends. Work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and evenings/ weekends/holidays as scheduled.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $41,857.00 - $62,786.00

Considerable knowledge of the therapeutic creative/expressive arts therapy principles, techniques, and methods and their application to the population being served.

Ability to conduct creative/expressive arts therapy services to support mental health treatment plan.

Ability to implement a variety of assessment methods to create individualized goals and interventions.

Ability to evaluate and document client progress towards goals to present to interdisciplinary team meetings.

Ability to integrate a philosophy of creative/expressive arts which is therapeutic in nature into a clinical program.

This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Minimum Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in music therapy which includes a six month internship from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in music or music education with an equivalency in music therapy which includes a six month internship from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in one of the creative/expressive arts areas (art, dance, drama, music) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in all phases of therapeutic programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Administering the class: if the creative/expressive arts degree program has a therapeutic equivalency or emphasis, the experience requirements will be waived.
