GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Police Communications Operator V:
(B19) $4,893.68/month. Performs advanced police and emergency communications work as a licensed first responder, responding to high-risk incidents and coordinating contacts with law enforcement agencies. Works under limited supervision, using initiative and judgment. Police Communications Operator VI:
(B20) $5,949.39/month. Performs highly advanced work, may serve as a lead, with considerable independence. Police Communications Operator VII:
(B21) $6,524.96/month. Performs supervisory and coordination work, may supervise others, with minimal supervision and extensive independence. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications, including specific education, experience, licensure, and knowledge requirements. Must obtain certain certifications within specified timeframes. Essential duties include coordinating communications during incidents, monitoring and prioritizing calls, researching intelligence, maintaining databases, providing training, troubleshooting equipment, and potentially testifying in court. Qualifications include education, experience, licensure, regulatory knowledge, leadership, technical skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, communication, research, analytical reasoning, confidentiality, safety awareness, and physical demands. Travel up to 7 days/month, with potential after-hours and weekend work. No telecommuting allowed. Physical/environmental demands include working in an office, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, and moderate driving. Salary is contingent on qualifications and subject to restrictions. Due to high volume, no phone inquiries. Only selected candidates will be contacted.
