**UAMS offers amazing benefits and perks** (available for benefits eligible positions only):* Health: Medical, Dental and Vision plans available for qualifying staff and family* Holiday, Vacation and Sick Leave* Education discount for staff and dependents (undergraduate only)* Retirement: Up to 10% matched contribution from UAMS* Basic Life Insurance up to $50,000* Career Training and Educational Opportunities* Merchant Discounts* Concierge prescription delivery on the main campus when using UAMS pharmacy* Bachelors Degree in Nursing* Valid RN License.* Two (2) years Registered Nursing or case management experience.* Current BLS & ACLS* Excellent communication skills.* Basic computer skills.* Strong work ethics, accountability, computer skills, and aptitude.* Work experience can be substituted for education* Masters in Nursing* Three (3) years Registered Nursing or case management experience.* One (1) Year Supervisory Experience in Healthcare* Certified Case Manger* Expedites, prioritizes, synchronizes and mediates clinical issues, barriers to discharge, and delays in patient care.* Triages alerts and situational awareness via investigation per the electronic medical record and additional clinical resources.* Communicates and partners with the Associate Directors of Nursing during times of movement prioritization within a specific area/location/nursing unit.* Manages deviations from patient care pathways; resolve bottlenecks, optimize and prioritize with support services and a variety of clinical departments. ·* Provides insight and information and work with Command Center leadership to address patient flow issues.* In concert with Case Management, strategizes and prioritizes needs for long length of stay or complex discharge patients.* Collaborates with Command Center operations, Acute Care leadership, and Quality to identify process improvement strategies, patient length of stay (LOS), trend delays, support quality initiatives, and enhance patient safety.* Defines patient activity triggers and feedback mechanisms to inform operational team members, physician leaders, and administrative teams to mitigate over-capacity situations.* Develops strategies to manage a surge in patient volumes* Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.* Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.* Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.* Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.* Performs other duties as assignedAt the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), we are looking for health care and non-health care professionals who believe in excellence as a way of life.
