Material Expeditor GTI Fabrication is looking for a Material Expeditor to ensure the timely and efficient flow of materials and supplies necessary for production and project completion. This role coordinates with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to track orders, resolve delays, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Base Pay Range $22.00/yr - $26.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience)

About The Role The Material Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring operational continuity and meeting project deadlines. The position involves coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to track orders, resolve delays, and maintain accurate inventory records. The expeditor is responsible for proactively identifying potential supply chain disruptions and implementing solutions to mitigate risks.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience in materials expediting, procurement, or supply chain coordination.

Proficiency with inventory management and order tracking software.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment.

Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Knowledge of quality control processes and material specifications.

Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCP).

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Monitor and track the status of material orders from placement through delivery to ensure on-time receipt.

Communicate regularly with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to expedite orders and resolve any issues or delays.

Maintain accurate records of material shipments, inventory levels, and delivery schedules using tracking systems and databases.

Coordinate with procurement and project management teams to prioritize material needs based on project timelines and production schedules.

Identify potential supply chain bottlenecks and collaborate with stakeholders to develop contingency plans.

Verify that received materials meet quality standards and specifications before acceptance.

Prepare and submit regular reports on material status, delivery performance, and inventory levels to management.
