$13.50/hr - $13.50/hr Job Purpose/Description

Sports Broadcasters/Web Cast Operators will be involved with Saints Athletics in the sports information department. This position will have the opportunity to be the voice of Saints Athletics at select home game events as a public address announcer and as a play-by-play analyst on the MIAC Sports Network.

Job Duties

To serve as play-by-play and public address announcers and/or commentators at athletic events for web casts. Broadcasters will be needed for football, hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. Candidates will be responsible for running live video webcasts of select St. Scholastica athletic events using the Production Truck Software (multi-camera able) as well as the preparation of on-screen graphics for use during the broadcasts. Additional hours will be available to plan/prepare for broadcasts, in addition, to set up and take down of equipment.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current or incoming CSS student Federal work study eligibility is required (international students exempt) Candidates should be well-spoken, and have a thorough understanding of the sport(s) they are broadcasting and also the technical aspect of doing a broadcast. Candidates must not have fear of public speaking and be comfortable with performing either PA or play-by-play duties as needed. Candidates must be willing to do paid training and be committed to assignments. Candidates must be detail-oriented and willing to occasionally non-traditional hours, including nights/weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous sports broadcasting experience is preferred but not necessary.
