Position Details Position Title: 3D Animation & Game Design - Senior Portfolio - Part-time Lecturer (Academic Year 2025-2026)
Position Summary: The 3D Animation & Game Design Program in the School of Media and Design seeks a part-time lecturer to teach Senior Portfolio in 3D Modeling. Faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW mission. Official duties include teaching and other activities as assigned.
Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible.
Essential Functions
Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.
Deliver synchronous online instruction to 3D Animation and Game Design students via Microsoft Teams.
Prepare and execute timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses.
Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.
Be available outside of class to help students learn and answer their questions (1 hour per 3‑hour class, physically and/or electronically).
Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and procedures, including timely record‑keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance.
Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work with the director of the 3D Animation & Game Design program to develop and deliver instruction on industry‑standard skills in the field of 3D modeling.
Knowledge of game development industry norms and pipelines.
Must be knowledgeable and experienced in at least one industry‑standard engine (preferably Unity or Unreal).
Ability to effectively learn and use instructional technology.
Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed.
Ability to incorporate technology into teaching.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education BFA or BS in Game Design, Game Programming, Computer Science, or Game Production. OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline; education less than a bachelor’s degree with at least five (5) additional years of significant experience may be considered.
Required Work Experience Significant experience in the game development industry in the field of modeling.
Preferred Qualifications Both teaching and industry experience.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations N/A.
Work Hours Based on course assignment.
Physical Demands Typical for faculty in this discipline.
