Summary The Manager NPI will join the Design Transfer and commercialization team to support an assigned platform and drive the design transfer and commercialization activities. The role collaborates with the Director – Design Transfer and Commercialization and works closely with teams across BD Excellence, CTW, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Finance, HR, Med Affairs, Marketing, GIE and commercial organizations.
Main Responsibilities
Drive integration of new products into manufacturing operations, including design transfer, process readiness, and production ramp‑up.
Handle project activities with accountability for all deliverables, develop project plans, schedules, scope and objectives, identify risk, develop mitigation strategies, and follow up on action items in collaboration with multifunctional groups.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives.
Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles by applying tools, analysis and reviews to ensure robust, scalable designs.
Support early‑phase builds and ensure smooth transitions into full‑scale manufacturing.
Assess and develop supplier capabilities to meet design and quality requirements and resolve technical challenges with suppliers.
Lead supplier qualification, contract manufacturer and custom material provider validation activities and test method development.
Support IQ/OQ/PV activities internally and at supplier sites, ensuring documentation meets quality system requirements (e.g., Design Reviews, Drawings, FMEAs, BOMs, Routers).
Coordinate tooling and process capability studies as required.
Required Qualifications
Engineering bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of related experience in engineering; OR Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience; OR PhD with 2 years of experience in product development focusing on commercialization.
R&D and portfolio management experience.
Operational excellence, quality, regulatory, business and finance knowledge with sophisticated understanding in cost accounting and capital management. Knowledgeable in ERPs and production systems.
Strong technical expertise in project management and operations management with solid understanding of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (GB/BB certification preferred).
Communication skills at all levels of the organization.
