Job Summary:
Krause Landscape Contractors is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Landscape Designer & Estimator to join our team and help bring our clients’ visions to life. The Landscape Designer & Estimator will be responsible for developing innovative landscape designs, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting project management from concept through completion. This role requires a blend of creative design skills, technical knowledge, and strong organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities Landscape Design
Create conceptual and detailed landscape designs for high-end residential and commercial properties
Develop site plans, planting plans, hardscape layouts, and lighting designs using CAD and design software
Collaborate with clients, architects, and internal teams to refine design concepts
Conduct site visits and assessments to inform design decisions
Prepare presentation materials and design boards for client meetings
Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for landscape construction projects
Analyze plans and specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
Maintain and update pricing databases and cost tracking systems
Ensure estimates align with project budgets and client expectations
Project Management
Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination
Monitor project progress and support field teams with design clarifications
Communicate with clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure satisfaction
Help manage change orders and project documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field
3+ years of experience in landscape design and estimating, preferably in high-end markets
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of landscape construction methods and materials
Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
