Medical Assistant II – UI Health Care Muscatine Pediatric Clinic 80% (With Benefits)
The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient-centered 80% (32 hours a week) Medical Assistant II (MA II) to work at our UI Health Care Muscatine Clinic. This position will mainly support our Muscatine Pediatric Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatric, Family Medicine, Specialty/Outreach. Summary: Under direct supervision of LIP (licensed independent practitioner), RN (registered nurse), NM/ANM (nurse manager/assistant nurse manager) or other licensed designee, functions as a member of the patient care team. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Duties to include: Staff will support our Pediatric Clinic patients. Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting. Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment. Variable hours between 7:30 – 5:30 Monday - Friday. No Wednesday or weekends required. No holidays or on-call time required. Location:
Muscatine, IA (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours) Salary:
$40,903.92 - $60,760.80 (at 100% time) / Hourly: $19.59 - $29.10 (based on years of experience) Minimum Eligibility Requirements Certification OR registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, OR completion of a health care profession program with curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program as described. Special Qualification/License: Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.
