Senior SEO Strategist Job TitleSenior SEO StrategistReports toSEO Team ManagerDuties and ResponsibilitiesThe Senior SEO Strategist will collaborate with other strategists and SEO team members in achieving client goals as needed. They will be ultimately responsible for the success of the clients assigned to them. Sr. SEO Strategists will be tasked to craft and help execute SEO strategies for their clients. These tasks could include, but are not limited to:Client Strategy & ResultsWorks with clients to understand their unique business models, uncovers key goals, and builds forward-thinking SEO strategies rooted in both current performance and long-term impact. Sets realistic expectations and clear timelines while adjusting for changing needs or industry shifts.Responsible for creating, managing and/or approving overall strategy for their clients and that the most impactful strategies are being executedBoth executes work and delegates work to team ensuring the recommendations and deliverables fulfill the overarching SEO strategiesOwns the client relationship and consistently ties SEO activities back to business goals, ensuring stakeholders understand both the short- and long-term value of the work Manages organization of project work using appropriate project management systemsServes as lead contact for clients; not necessarily the only contactReviews work completed by other SEO team members for their clients as applicable and ensures it meets the companys standard of quality - provides helpful feedback as neededTracks project progress and progress toward meeting client goals each month; sets new goals if necessary and updates the client on progress.Handles and leads through unexpected events and client issuesUltimately responsible for client retention of assigned client accounts; Is an excellent communicator and is proactive with client communicationsCollaborates with other team members, contractors and/or client staff in the execution of SEO marketing tactics, such as copywriting and technical analysisCreates monthly client reports and ensures they are accurate and on timeWorkload / PlanningReview the planned tasks based on the client retainer for each of their clients monthly to ensure it is reasonable and complete Understands how and is able to delegate work to other team members when appropriate - matches tasks to individual strengths and provides clear direction and coaching as neededWorks with the Sales team to complete sales engineeringCommunicates with the SEO Manager regarding delays in work and client concernsUpdates Hubspot with client status updatesWorks with SEO Team Manager and SEO Strategy Manager to create, manage, and/or lead non-billable projects/tasksInternal Process ImprovementsBe able and willing to learn new skills, ask questions, be an active participant in team meetings, share thoughts, knowledge, and wins and lossesIdentify, evaluate, recommend and help implement tools and/or processes that could benefit the SEO team and achieve client goalsHelp document and refine team SOPs, recognizing where complexity can be reduced and efficiency gainedCoaching / Team Member ImprovementsMentors and shares technical and strategic expertise to coach or train fellow staff members as applicableAssists in identifying training opportunities within the teamCommunicates with the SEO Team Manager regarding Capacity concernsSkill gapsSuccesses and performance issues/gaps of team membersAssists in identifying reasonable technical / training goals for any SEO team membersBusiness Development (Sales / Upsell Assistance)Assists sales department with site analysis, joining sales calls as neededIdentify and help execute opportunities to grow client accounts and retainersIdentifies when a cross-sell opportunity exists that could add value to the clients results, and coordinates with the other department headsThought LeadershipContributes to Inflows internal marketing effortsQualificationsThis position can have tight deadlines and may require work hours outside of the normal work day and hours on occasion.5+ years applicable work experience with strong experience in eCommerce SEO, technical SEO, on-page optimization, content marketing, and analytics 4+ years of Digital Agency experienceDemonstrated in-depth technical SEO expertise. Technical and content audit experience on large (preferably eCommerce) sites is a must. Strong understanding of and experience with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and moreAccount and Project Management: Passionate drive to serve clients and see projects through to completion Highly organized; able to plan and prioritize multiple projects and tasks; strong attention to detailExcellent ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formatsProactive in communicating with clients (and internal team) and anticipating their needs/concernsSignificant experience creating and implementing client strategiesStrong analytical skills; able to report on successes/failures and identify areas of continuous improvementAbility to train other staff members in needed areas of improvementDesire to continually grow skill setCertified with GA4; other certifications a bonusMust enjoy working closely with a highly skilled teamGrowth mindset - Continuous learner and seeker of knowledge
