Position Overview The eLearning Designer will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of CivicsEDU’s e‑learning platform powered by Learniverse. The eLearning Designer will work closely with the Director of Education and the Content Review Committee to create civic‑centric content that is engaging, relevant, impartial, and accurate. The incumbent will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure that all digital learning materials align with CivicsEDU’s brand identity, accessibility standards, and outreach goals. This includes designing visually cohesive course interfaces, optimizing user experience across devices, and supporting promotional efforts for online courses and learning modules. The eLearning Designer will also analyze learner feedback and engagement data to inform continuous improvements, ensuring that CivicsEDU’s e‑learning offerings remain innovative, inclusive, and impactful. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain online civic education courses and learning modules for CivicsEDU’s e‑learning platform. Translate complex civic concepts into engaging, accessible, and interactive learning experiences. Align all course content with CivicsEDU’s educational standards and commitment to impartiality, accuracy, and civic engagement. Structure and organize course content within CivicsEDU’s learning management system (LMS), ensuring intuitive navigation and a positive learner experience. Collaborate with the Director of Education to refine platform strategy and course offerings. Work closely with subject matter experts and the Content Review Committee to ensure content accuracy and balance. Stay current with trends and technologies in instructional design, e‑learning, and civic education. Time Commitment We hold monthly all‑staff meetings lasting approximately an hour and a half. In addition, individual teams may meet at certain times throughout the month to work on projects. While there are no fixed work hours, we encourage you to dedicate available time between these meetings to projects relevant to your role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, history, education, sociology, or related field is desirable. Collegiate students are also encouraged to apply. Demonstrated passion for civic engagement, social equity, and community empowerment. Strong knowledge of civics education principles, government structures, and democratic processes. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively. Experience developing and delivering educational programs or workshops, preferably in a community outreach setting. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail. Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and cultural competency in all aspects of program development and implementation. Familiarity with Google Workspace and project management platforms such as Asana.
