Account Executive – Automotive Expert
The advertising sales arm of Spectrum, Spectrum Reach, offers best‑in‑class premium video solutions to business owners and advertising agencies nationwide.
Base pay range: $45,000 – $48,000 per year
Eligible for: a total compensation target of $110‑140k (base included)
Location: Los Angeles, CA
As an Account Executive, you will lead all sales and client management responsibilities of your book of business, focusing on the Automotive space. You will be responsible for driving revenue through a combination of account management and proactive selling of our data‑driven media solutions.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Generate new business in the Automotive space in a metric‑based environment
- Be knowledgeable of all key auto partners and stay up to date, reporting industry trends
- Have a hand in the auto aspect of the advertising business
- Achieve sales and strategic goals
- Cultivate and nurture connections with brands and marketing/advertising agencies
- Recognize business challenges that Spectrum Reach’s media solutions can address and connect solutions to those challenges
- Oversee sales forecasting and reporting for your Book of Business
- Communicate effectively with external partners, clients, and internal stakeholders, adapting your style and delivery to many levels of technical expertise
- Deliver client results that earn repeat business
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations in the Automotive space
- Strong relationship‑building and interpersonal skills
- Experience providing direction and overall strategy in the Auto space by articulating client strategies using industry knowledge to expand business opportunities
- Developing positive relationships with clients and the community
- 3+ years of sales experience with ideally 2+ years of progressive sales experience in Automotive & Digital advertising (preferably CTV), insertion order media and/or managed services to marketing decision‑makers with brands and/or independent ad agencies
- Experience in local broadcast, cable, online or print media sales (3‑5+ years), leadership experience (3‑5 years), sales experience (3‑5 years)
- Relationship building, sales lead conversion, managing deadlines and priorities, developing new businesses
- Ability to use data in the development and sale of a media strategy
- Adept at presenting complex solutions in a simple, easy‑to‑understand manner
- Understanding of the media landscape and evolving dynamics of advertising within it
- Familiarity of the Adtech ecosystem including ad network, ad exchange, SEM platform, DSP, SSP, and other online advertising technology
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to speak with C‑level clients; confident in negotiating
- Local and regional travel; valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Accustomed to building processes to hold yourself accountable to goals; own your day
- Knowledge of Salesforce
- Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining high levels of client relationships and business excellence
- Knowledge of media research & planning tools (e.g., Strata, ComScore, Nielsen, GA4, etc.)
- Passionate about the convergence of entertainment, technology, and data that is fueling new opportunities for Spectrum Reach and our customers
