Director, Advertising Strategic Partnerships
Best Buy Ads is building a world-class retail media network that connects brands with millions of tech‑savvy customers through data‑driven advertising solutions. We’re looking for a Director of Partnerships to lead the development, optimization, and growth of strategic partner relationships that drive revenue and enhance our media capabilities.
This role will oversee a portfolio of existing partners while identifying and structuring new opportunities that align with our business goals. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and a strategic mindset to build high‑impact partnerships across the media and ad‑tech ecosystem.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on‑site at a Best Buy Ads office in Midtown Manhattan and some days virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
Base pay range
$118,779.00/yr – $212,109.00/yr
What You’ll Do
- Identify, source, and evaluate potential partners that align with Best Buy Ads’ strategic priorities.
- Structure and negotiate partnership agreements that drive mutual value and long‑term growth.
- Lead onboarding and integration efforts for new partners, ensuring seamless collaboration across internal teams—similar to M&A‑style coordination.
- Optimize existing partnerships by designing performance scorecards, tracking ROI, and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on partner products, offers, and business models, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Strategy teams.
- Track and analyze partnership performance metrics, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform decision‑making and reporting.
- Foster strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment before, during, and after deal execution.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic partnerships or business development.
- 5+ years of experience in the media/ad‑tech industry: programmatic, CTV, digital, social, or retail media.
- Proven ability to build and execute joint business plans, forecast revenue, and manage complex negotiations.
- Strong understanding of media and ad‑tech ecosystems, including emerging trends and technologies.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Experience leading partnership strategy and execution across multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field or relevant experience.
- MBA or advanced degree or relevant experience.
