Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for Communication/Speech adjunct instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our other off-campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official workstation assignment may change each semester.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Teach assigned courses in Communications/Speech at Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris.
- Prepare course materials and maintain accurate class records.
- Evaluate student learning and submit required reports promptly.
- Attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades by the established deadlines.
- Communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes to the assigned chair or dean.
Working Conditions
- Sedentary desk work with occasional travel for college or program activities.
- Minimal hazard/exposure typical of standard office settings.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Communications/Speech.
- Proficiency in communicating effectively with students and other college personnel.
- Familiarity with the course management system (eLearn) required.
