LIBRARIAN: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)

Pay Information: Salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and verifications of previous work experience. Instructors will be placed on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules effective the first month following receipt. Salary schedule can be viewed in the “Salary Schedules” link.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide reference, collection development, instructional workshops, technical services, cataloging, electronic resource management, online services, and outreach to students, faculty, and professionals in various modalities.
• For part‑time faculty teaching for‑credit courses: provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum, lecture and lab classes as determined. Faculty are expected to be available to students outside of class.
• Attend and participate in department, campus, and district meetings as necessary; help develop and implement library policies and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge in subject‑matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities and maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science, or Library and Information Science (American Library Association‑accredited); or
• Possession of a California Community College Librarian Credential (valid for life); or
• The equivalent.

• California Community College Librarian Credential (valid for life).
• Commitment to diversity: demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to a diverse student body.

Special Instructions to Applicants

• Submit official college transcripts.
• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment; renew every 4 years.
• Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at district expense (clearance prior to first day).
• Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
