Supervises Member Services staff and desk activities; handles employee issues and recommends the hiring, termination, and promotion of Member Services staff. Conducts SIRSI computer program instruction; trains and supervises paraprofessionals to provide readers' advisory services to members; resolves inquiries and complaints concerning the circulation of materials from the public; directs the maintenance and arrangement of library materials; ensures facilities are in order; works with other section and area supervisors to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree; minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a library, including six (6) months of supervisory experience.
  • Associate's Degree or two (2) years of college‑level coursework (must specify 60‑semester/90‑quarter hours) and four (4) years of related experience, including six (6) months of supervisory experience.
  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and six (6) years of related experience, including six (6) months of supervisory experience.

Preference and Additional Requirements

  • Resolving library‑related inquiries/complaints in‑person and over the telephone; training personnel; providing library self‑service technology training (must specify on application); using SIRSI or other automated circulation system (must specify on application).
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
