Kentucky Trailer is hiring: Order Writer in Louisville

Kentucky Trailer is part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings, which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway. In this role you will handle service and parts order quoting/writing, support post‑sale customers, and collaborate with internal teams to achieve volume and revenue targets. The position is responsible for developing specifications, pricing estimates for trailer and box truck repairs and refurbishment, and aftermarket parts sales.

Key Accountabilities

• Communicate with customers to build and provide service and parts quotes via phone and email.
• Write and revise quotes and orders as needed.
• Assist purchasing associates to source vendors for unique, job‑specific parts.
• Read and understand drawings.
• Continuously provide input to improve the estimating and order processing cycle time and effectiveness.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers and Kentucky Trailer associates.
• Help manage customer relationships.
• Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism, positive outlook, urgency, and discipline to meet needs in a timely fashion.
• Handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Maintain proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office; experience with any service center software or specifically Service Point/Counter Point and CAD print reading is a plus.
• Work independently or jointly with Service Writers, Operations, Sales, Finance, and others to achieve targeted expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School (Grade 12) or equivalent (Associate degree a plus).
• Five plus years of experience in a heavy‑duty commercial vehicle repair and/or service environment or Kentucky Trailer manufacturing experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills required (oral and written).
• Good problem‑solving skills, high quality, attention to detail, and solid math skills.
• Ability to work alone or with others.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
