Salary:
$36.08–$80.98/hr (range determined by bargaining agreement, internal equity, experience, and budget).

Position Summary:
The Staff Nurse I provides direct patient care and takes the initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating shared leadership, evidence-based practice, relationship-based care, and nursing excellence into clinical practice. The role involves developing patient care plans, collaborating with the health care team, documenting orders, promoting professional growth, and supporting other staff.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and update the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessment and family input.
Share information and collaborate with other health care team members.
Verify and implement provider orders, document accurately in the electronic medical record.
Engage patients/families, develop educational plans.
Prioritize and respond to patient needs.
Delegate tasks per Illinois State Nurse Practice Act, provide support and feedback.
Advocate for patients, families, community, and nursing profession.
Integrate evidence-based research and current standards into patient care.
Assume role of Charge Nurse when assigned, using appropriate resources.
Collaborate to promote positive learning experiences for staff and students.
Serve as preceptor/resource to nurses, support staff, students.
Engage in professional growth and development.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Eligibility for licensure as an RN in Illinois.
Current BLS/CPR and unit-specific certifications.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Effective communication skills (oral/written) to facilitate therapeutic relationships.
Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) desired.
Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history.
Preferred Qualifications Emergency Department experience preferred.
