The Staff Nurse I provides direct patient care and takes the initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence‑Based Practice, Relationship‑Based Care, and nursing excellence into clinical practice. The role integrates professional practice models, current standards of practice, and clinical experience to deliver quality patient care as measured by established nursing quality standards and other governing health‑care bodies. Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and update the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessments and input from the patient and family. Share information and collaborate with health‑care team members to promote effective patient care. Verify and implement orders from physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses, documenting accurately in the electronic medical record. Engage patients and families to develop appropriate educational plans. Recognize symptoms, prioritize care, and respond to patients’ changing needs. Delegate tasks to support personnel per the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act and provide feedback. Advocate for patients, families, the community, and the nursing profession. Integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence‑based research, current standards, and clinical experience to provide “quality” patient care. Assume role of Charge Nurse when assigned, utilizing appropriate resources and tools. Collaborate with other nurses to identify, promote, and provide positive learning experiences for staff and students. Serve as preceptor and/or resource to nursing, support staff, and students. Take responsibility for continued professional growth by identifying learning needs and initiating strategies. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation. Current BLS/CPR and/or other required unit specific certifications. Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or within 6 months of hire for main hospital. Effective oral and written communication skills to facilitate therapeutic relationships. Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, and attendance record. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of one year of ICU experience. To Apply
