Position Title
Nuclear Accountability Software Writer
Contract Duration 1 year with the option to extend for an additional 1 year. Option periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Work Schedule Mon‑Thu. 100% Remote. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate’s expense.

Security Clearance Area Security Access: Clearance “Q” required. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE/NNSA. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
Travel Requirements Travel may be required up to one week a month. Required travel includes: to client for badging, meet and work with core team and management; to other DOE Sites or other locations to meet with NNSA or DOE to support software requirements, development or testing of nuclear material accounting software. Travel cannot take place until approved by procurement via a fully funded requisition and added to the Task Order Authorization. A justification, travel locations, estimated cost, and dates of travel must be provided prior to procurement approval. SRNS will not reimburse for travel to conferences or trainings. All rates are fully burdened and should include all costs outside of direct business travel.
Education & Experience BS/BA in Technical Communications, English, Business or related discipline and 5‑7 years related experience. OR AS and 8‑10 years related experience. OR 10+ years directly related experience. Education and/or experience in a technical field desirable. Understanding of and ability to communicate technical information required. Knowledge of publications process/electronic publishing; technical expertise of our client processes. Use of mark‑up techniques, layout design, templates, and desktop publishing computers/software. Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Other Required Qualifications Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance (see Security Clearance section).

Knowledge of publications process/electronic publishing; technical expertise of our client processes. Use of mark‑up techniques, layout design, templates, and desktop publishing computers/software.

Serve as an expert on nuclear material accounting software.
Support Department of Energy / National Nuclear Security Administration sites in their implementation of nuclear material accounting software.
Provide helpdesk support for LANMAS software.
