Technical Writer (4801) with Security Clearance
GVI Inc., a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, a federal government contractor, is seeking a Technical Writer in Port Hueneme, CA.
Position Requirements
Clearance: Secret
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Multimedia Design/Development, Information Technology Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent, or six (6) years of technical writing experience.
Experience
Five (5) years of experience developing and producing interactive/online technical documentation.
At least one (1) year managing and coordinating personnel and activities to support the design, development, and production of training courses and course materials in compliance with USN policies and standards for Navy Combat Weapon Systems.
Two (2) years of experience with Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, and/or Sharable Content Object Reference Model.
Demonstrated experience supervising content development and coordinating validation/verification events, scheduling, and publication to shore or ships.
Experience with the technical documentation life cycle, distribution, and disposal.
Proficiency with XML, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with HP‑UX file systems and commands.
Experience maintaining and producing technical documentation in S1000 international specification.
Use of IDEs for logistic product development.
Expertise in creating equipment manuals, appendices, operating and maintenance instructions for Navy Combat Weapon Systems.
Experience in developing logistic program management plans and related presentations.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and similar tools for 2D/3D drawings.
Experience gathering and analyzing source material for curricula and operator/maintenance training.
Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Planned Maintenance Systems; RCM Level I and II certified.
Experience using naval databases such as CDMD‑OA, NDE, PMSMIS, ATIS, TDMIS, SMART‑T, NSDER, ICAPS, and AIM.
Compensation $90,000 – $115,000
