Job Description
Pizza Hut, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Director of Communications to lead our internal and external communications strategies. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing communication plans that support all parts of the Pizza Hut business, connect employees to our brand strategy, and protect and enhance our brand reputation. The Director of Communications manages two direct reports: one team member focused on supporting traditional internal and external communications and a second team member who serves as a hybrid internal communications resource and creative/multimedia specialist. The role reports directly into Pizza Hut’s Global Chief People & Culture Officer and collaborates heavily across functional teams and the entire Yum! Brands organization in a highly matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
Internal Communications (55%): Ensure consistent and effective communication across all levels of the organization by developing and executing internal communications strategies and content to support Pizza Hut Global Functional Teams, including People & Culture, Strategy, Brand Marketing, Restaurant Development, Food Innovation, and more. Produce high-quality internal content including newsletters, organizational announcements, executive communications, announcement timelines, meeting and event recaps, and more. As the internal communications lead, you are also responsible for project managing Pizza Hut’s quarterly Global Town Halls, collaborating closely with the Global Strategy Team, our Global Leadership Team and other functions to set the agendas, coordinate content and execute the events.
External Communications (40%): Develop and implement strategies and content to enhance Pizza Hut's brand reputation externally. Lead external communications efforts, including public relations, management of owned communication channels (such as LinkedIn) and executive visibility. Produce high-quality external content including press materials, official company statements, social media copy, website content, executive messaging and more. Support U.S. and global Pizza Hut markets in issues and crisis response in partnership with Yum! Brands' Issues Management & Crisis Response Center of Excellence.
Provide real-time, strategic counsel for issues & crisis; lead crisis trainings and simulations for leaders and global markets; develop reactive messaging for media.
Community Impact Serve as a liaison between global markets and Yum! Brands' Community Impact Center of Excellence. Drive the "Recipe for Good" community impact initiatives led by our markets around the world, ensuring alignment with our global mission and values.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in corporate and/or internal communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.
Exceptional writing skills, with a strong command of AP Style preferred.
Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience working across and navigating a highly matrixed organization and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and global markets.
Previous experience managing external agency and vendor relationships preferred.
Salary Range: $160,400 to $169,920 annually + bonus eligibility and stock-based compensation.
