Marketing and Communications Coordinator At the Palm Beach County Food Bank (PBCFB), we are guided by our mission to nourish our neighbors and improve their lives one meal at a time, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. PBCFB rescues and mobilizes food donations from local farmers, food distributors, retailers, and restaurants. The rescued food is allocated to our vast network of over 200 social service agencies, helping address food insecurity in the county.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting, developing, and executing marketing and communications strategies and projects that enhance the organization’s brand presence, drive engagement, and promote agency initiatives to garner community support. This role supports the planning, creation, and distribution of external communications, including, but not limited to, visual marketing assets inbound and outbound marketing, and development materials. The coordinator works closely with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the overall marketing objectives.

Responsibilities AudioVisual Communication

Coordinates social media platforms, tracks metrics and trends, and works collaboratively with the team to ensure audience engagement and growth and to meet marketing goals.

Assists with developing accurate and consistent content for various marketing channels, including, but not limited to, social media, email marketing, informational collateral (e.g., newsletters), website content (e.g., landing pages, donation forms), and promotional materials (e.g., advertisements).

Creates and updates visual communication assets, including rack cards, flyers, presentations, photos, and video; ensuring they align with brand guidelines.

Produces email marketing messages, including drafting copy, designing layouts, segmenting lists, and targeting subscribers to align with overall marketing goals and brand guidelines.

Public Relations

Supports the planning, promotion, and execution of marketing campaigns for events, including fundraisers and meal‑packing events.

Assists with proof‑editing documents and coordinating media appearances in collaboration with public relations agency, to promote the organization’s news, events, and achievements.

Participates in outreach opportunities including but not limited to off‑site fairs and farmers’ markets.

Works closely with other departments on communication strategies to create communication materials, including digital fundraising forms and flyers.

Maintains existing business connections with external community partners as well as initiates new relationships.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, liberal arts, or related field.

2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism.

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks with timely completion.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh ideas for content and campaigns.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Highly motivated, self‑starter with the ability to take initiative and organize projects through completion.

Must be willing to stay up‑to‑date with digital marketing best practices, industry changes, and current technology.

Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and competent to proficient in design and video tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) required.

Combination of experience with some or all: social media content creation, digital design, videography, photography, website management, email marketing, media relations, or transferable skills from related work.

Knowledge of external communication best practices and software is preferred.

Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management software, etc.), and/or advertising tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, etc.) is a plus.

Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, listen, see, observe, type, and perform repetitive motions. This is medium work exerting up to 25 pounds or more of force occasionally.

The schedule is Monday through Friday—40 hours per week; may require some evening or weekend work depending on community events.
