We're seeking a Process Mechanical Designer to join our Water/Wastewater team in Gainesville, FL. In this role, you'll collaborate with a talented group of professionals to design and draft process mechanical systems that power critical water infrastructure. Your work will help communities thrive locally and globally.
What you'll do
Prepare detailed process mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
Create accurate construction drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation for mechanical systems.
Work closely with process, civil, structural, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated and coordinated designs.
Utilize CAD and 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D) to develop piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and mechanical details.
Apply industry codes, standards, and client requirements to ensure compliance and quality.
Assist in preparing design packages for bidding and construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
Participate in field investigations, site surveys, and construction support activities as needed.
Perform self-checks and peer reviews to maintain accuracy and consistency in deliverables.
Contribute creative solutions to complex water and wastewater challenges, ensuring sustainable and cost-effective designs.

Experience in computer-aided drafting for water/wastewater or civil projects (typically 5+ years, but equivalent experience will be considered).
Proficiency with design software such as MicroStation, OpenPlant, or AECOSim; familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D, Plant 3D) or Revit is a plus.
Hands-on experience producing mechanical design drawings, including building systems, process equipment, pump and piping systems, and civil yard piping.
Ideally, you'll also have
Knowledge of BIM workflows and 3D modeling.
Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
