Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products.
As a UX Program Manager (UX Programs & Operations), you will combine expert project management skills with a passion for user experience to help your team improve the design of products that are used by billions of users. You’ll plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure projects meet deadlines. You’ll harmonize the work of UX Designers, Researchers, Content Strategists, UX Engineers, and other UX disciplines, while also working closely with our Engineering and Product Manager cross‑functional partners, to drive UX team objectives and create innovative experiences for our business, products, and users.
Responsibilities
Utilize knowledge of the UX craft, methodologies, or analytics to build programs that scale across teams.
Lead and collaborate with UX team leadership in key project decision‑making and orchestrate delivery for multiple UX‑related projects simultaneously.
Align priorities by acting as a bridge between UX, Engineering, Product Management, and other stakeholder teams; ensure interdependencies among these teams are understood and planned for; contextualize, translate, and communicate requirements between UX and the rest of the organization.
Own quarterly and annual planning and prioritization with UX team leadership and cross‑functional partners to drive decision‑making around UX priorities and resource allocation.
Establish communications strategy and cadence to cross‑functional team leads and executive management regarding program status, resource requirements, risks, and priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience managing and scaling UX related programs.
8 years of experience driving operational efforts across organizations.
Experience with UX disciplines and user‑centered development tools and methodologies.
Experience analyzing data and leveraging insights to develop solutions.
Experience with the velocity and productivity of teams, products, and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading AI‑powered UX explorations and initiatives.
Experience in accelerating both UX and cross‑functional product teams with systems, strategy, and operations.
Experience with UX craft, empowering UX teams, and building impactful partnerships.
Ability to communicate concepts across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, identify problems and issues across organizations, and create programs and processes to solve them.
Excellent investigative and people‑management skills, with the ability to create strategic data‑driven recommendations and build relationships.
Compensation
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $178,000–$265,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
