Bid Writer – Contract Position – 12 Months
Base pay range: $75,000 - $80,000 per year. The position is a 12‑month contract with an opportunity to transition to full time upon successful performance.

We operate the Illinois Lottery under a private management agreement and provide products and services to lotteries in the United States and Europe. Position Overview
As a Bid Writer, you will develop high‑quality, persuasive proposals that align with Allwyn’s strategic objectives. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure each proposal meets compliance requirements and communicates winning themes.
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and refine proposal sections, ensuring alignment with structure and compliance.
- Review and enhance content created by SMEs for clarity, flow, and persuasive tone.
- Translate strategic direction, differentiators, and key themes into final content.
- Apply advanced persuasive writing techniques across assigned content.
- Support bid forms and administrative documentation for submissions.
- Maintain bid content library using Responsive (RFPIO) or similar CMS.
- Collaborate with Bid Manager to meet deadlines and proposal schedules.
- Verify compliance with RFP instructions before final compilation.
- Provide administrative support as needed (file organization, version control, final production).
- Draft and refine B2B/B2G content such as conference presentations, op‑ed articles, and trade publication submissions.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer, or similar role.
- Expertise in persuasive proposal writing and strategic content development.
- Hands‑on experience using Responsive (RFPIO) or similar proposal automation tools.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality deliverables.
- Collaborative mindset with cross‑functional teamwork.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the Lottery/gaming or Information Technology industries.
- Professional certifications such as APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals).
- Familiarity with formal bid methodologies (e.g., Shipley).
