We’re looking for a
Telecommunications BIM Designer
who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business and is interested in working side‑by‑side with other team members at our client’s site. This is a geographically flexible, hybrid position in the U.S.

As a BIM Designer, you will be engaged in the design documentation while being responsible for the set‑up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of telecom discipline leads, this position provides an opportunity to showcase your Revit expertise while staying in accordance with Jacobs and client BIM standards. Using a mixture of the Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD software platforms you will create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L) as well as creating 2D construction drawings. This is all accomplished in coordination with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers who are all on the same Jacobs design team. Using the Jacobs design methods in conjunction with your keen eye for detail and established BIM skills, you will be part of our telecom design team working to turn the design intent of our senior telecom design staff into constructable deliverables including clash‑free 3D models.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry.
A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
Experience following client design and modeling standards.
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups and/or verbal direction requests.
Willingness to learn new things.
Ideally, you’ll also have
At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.
Understanding of semiconductor or data center environments.
Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom and audio‑visual systems.
Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television).
Knowledge of control systems, network components and topology.
