Telecommunications BIM Designer

role is a geographically flexible, hybrid position based in the U.S. The successful candidate will work on projects for the booming semiconductor manufacturing industry and other state‑of‑the‑art research facilities, delivering world‑class designs to well‑known clients worldwide.

Responsibilities

Engage in design documentation while being responsible for the set‑up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.

Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to create fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C, S, A, M, E, P, T, I, L).

Use Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD to create and manage content for clash‑free 3D models and 2D construction drawings.

Work under the direction of telecom discipline leads, adhering to Jacobs and client BIM standards.

Translate design intent of senior telecom designers into constructable deliverables.

Maintain and update models in compliance with project requirements and change orders.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.

At least 3 years of BIM design experience.

At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction.

Growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.

Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.

Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.

Experience following client design and modeling standards.

Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups and/or verbal direction requests.

Willingness to learn new things.

Ideal Qualifications

At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.

Understanding of semiconductor or data center environments.

Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio‑visual systems.

Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV.

Knowledge of control systems, network components, and topology.
