This position is located in Salt Lake City, UT. We expect to fill one vacancy at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.

Duties

This position will serve as an Aircraft Logistics Coordinator for the Great Basin Coordination Center.

Analyzes requests and determines best source of resources for efficient and cost‑effective mobilization.

Monitors daily fire situation in the Great Basin geographic area with anticipation of needs; identifying shortages of critical resources.

Advises offices on applicability of aircraft types and capabilities, costs and possible alternatives.

Creates, utilizes and maintains various computer programs/files to facilitate the rapid flow of data and other information to appropriate user.

Maintains detailed records of suppression resource use for long term planning.

Updates mobilization guides, statistical and year‑end reports and qualification system support.

Serves on agency and inter‑agency committees, attends meetings.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Background investigation is required.

Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination. Failure to possess or obtain a favorable determination will result in the cancellation of the offer or will be grounds for termination.

Applicant(s) tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use and to pass the test prior to appointment. In addition, this position is subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

This position requires regular and recurring overtime and shift work during peak fire season.

May require completion of a one‑year probationary period.
