PHP Web Developer – Huyett
Location: Minneapolis, MN or Sidney, NE (remote possible)
Compensation: $77,000 – $96,000 annual + tri-annual bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code that adheres to coding standards.
- Design and develop custom Oro Commerce modules, extensions, and integrations using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
- Collaborate with front‑end developers, designers, and project managers to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
- Create and maintain database structures, queries, and APIs to support web applications.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to server‑side web application logic, databases, and APIs.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the development process.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in eCommerce and PHP development.
- Ensure the security of the web application logic, databases, and APIs by implementing appropriate security measures.
- Own delivery cadence, backlog grooming, estimation, sprint planning, and release management.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to promote accountability to project timelines.
- Lead QA/UAT, define acceptance criteria and test plans, triage defects, and ensure high‑quality, on‑time releases.
- Integrate and operate external systems/APIs (ERP/PIM, shipping carriers, payments); implement logging, retries/timeouts, and monitoring.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and other server‑side web development technologies.
- Strong object‑oriented design (OOD) skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience working with web services, including HTTP, XML, and JSON.
- Experience with front‑end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of APIs and how they work, including RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with PHPUnit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
