Summary of Position:
The Design Technology Director leads the engineering team in designing pneumatic tube systems for healthcare facilities. This leadership role defines the department’s technical direction, establishes best practices, and aligns operational and strategic goals with the organization’s objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Champion the development, management, and implementation of BIM & CAD standards, guidelines, and best practices
Collaborate across teams to identify and implement new technologies for increased efficiency
Ensure continuity, consistency and accuracy of cost estimating practices
Lead, grow and mentor engineering personnel, including talent acquisition
Evaluate work request protocols and document management practices
Allocate resources based on project timelines and workload
Evaluate outsourced engineering work and plan for future needs
Visit other office locations regularly to oversee operations and lead team development
Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of mechanical system design
5+ years experience with AutoCAD documentation and BIM protocols (Bentley Microstation a plus)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 5 years mechanical engineering or architectural experience
Minimum 3 years team leadership experience
