Overview Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced CAD Operator to join our Structures team in Miami, Florida, (FL)!

Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for structural drafting assignments requiring advanced working knowledge of structural design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques in building structural, site structural, and heavy structural elements in concrete, masonry, steel, and wood.

Develop technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD and Revit software.

Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations.

Requires minimal supervision to perform day-to-day tasks.

Completes structural projects from initial concept, through construction documents.

Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes.

Maintains drawing database.

May supervise and train CAD staff.

Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.

Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred).

3+ years of relevant experience drafting structural systems.

Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.

Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 for document management.

Proficient with working in both paper and model space and with x-references, blocks, and sheet sets.

Familiar with multidisciplinary projects and able to coordinate/communicate with other disciplines on items related to the structural design.

Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.

Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
