Fashion Marketing & Brand Development Coordinator
John Melvin University (JMU) and M2M Fashion Shop are seeking a motivated and creative professional to serve as the Fashion Marketing & Brand Development Coordinator. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of education, fashion, and entrepreneurship — supporting the growth of JMU’s Fashion Marketing program and expanding the visibility of M2M Fashion Shop, the university’s student-powered fashion and lifestyle brand.
Position Overview
The Fashion Marketing & Brand Development Coordinator will assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing creative marketing strategies and brand initiatives for JMU’s Fashion Marketing Department and the M2M Fashion Shop. The Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the design, promotion, and storytelling behind the M2M brand — combining classroom learning with real-world marketing experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support brand strategy and creative marketing campaigns for M2M Fashion Shop.
Assist with the design and execution of digital, print, and social media campaigns to build awareness and increase engagement.
Coordinate student and faculty collaborations for photo shoots, pop-up events, and lookbook launches.
Help manage e-commerce and campus retail operations, ensuring brand consistency and customer engagement.
Assist in planning and promoting the annual JMU Fashion & Faith Showcase and other fashion-related events.
Collaborate with the marketing team to track campaign performance and analyze engagement metrics.
Assist with the development of a Fashion Marketing curriculum option within the Business Management Department, integrating classroom theory with hands‑on fashion branding projects.
Provide mentorship and guidance to student assistants working in the Fashion Marketing program.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing degree) in Fashion Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
1–3 years of experience or internship in marketing, fashion, retail, or social media management preferred.
Creative thinker with strong design and visual communication skills.
Understanding of social media platforms, influencer marketing, and brand storytelling.
Passion for faith‑based education, entrepreneurship, and fashion branding.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and partners to achieve shared goals.
Compensation
Base salary + commission (commensurate with experience and performance).
Details
Works closely with the JMU business faculty and the M2M Fashion leadership team.
Focuses on analytics, brand strategy, and curriculum development.
Eligible for commission bonuses for sales or successful marketing campaigns.
