As a Lead Editor, you will play a key role in the strategy and execution of higher‑level editorial projects to drive audience growth on GOBankingRates, MoneyLion, and publisher partner sites. You will lead the development of data‑driven and optimised articles that resonate with readers and publishers. You will report to the Director of Content and collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners in product, design and SEO.

Responsibilities

Assign, fact‑check, edit, copy‑edit and publish 7–8 pieces of content daily while handling any additional required tasks throughout the production process.

Identify opportunities to optimise article linking strategy, including updating the high‑priority linking document.

Own multiple high‑priority initiatives, tentpoles and series—including the overall content blueprint and the production of landing pages—seeing the process through from brainstorming to execution.

Serve as team point of contact for overall quality, emphasizing headline optimisation and communicating quality‑focused updates with the full team.

Handle freelance management and oversight as needed.

Submit and get approval on 20 blueprint titles per week.

Other duties as assigned; editors should be ready to adjust their responsibilities to meet team needs.

Please note that we are only considering candidates that are commutable to our NYC office. This role requires you to be in the office 50% of the time.

Qualifications

At least 7 years of editorial experience at a national or global online publication.

High‑level editorial judgment and strategic thinking.

Attention to detail and strong organisation, time‑management and communication skills.

Advanced project management and leadership capabilities.

Knowledge of digital media best practices and industry trends, with experience implementing them in content and plans.

Expertise in digital tools, analytics and audience engagement.

Experience using analytics tools to make editorial decisions.

Proactive, detail‑oriented, with exceptional editing and fact‑checking skills.
