Assistant Professor of English (AI and Interactive Media)
Full-time, tenure‑track position in the Department of English at Kennesaw State University, Georgia. Preferred start date: August 2026. Nine‑month contract with potential for renewal. Job Summary
We seek an assistant professor whose research and teaching focus on AI, interactive media, and related fields. The role includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, service to the department/college, and active scholarship. Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI and interactive media, including Interactive Narrative and Game Writing, Screenwriting, Digital Storytelling, Prompt Engineering, AI and Writing Technologies, Game Studies, and related subjects. Maintain a variable workload; typical teaching load for research‑active assistant professors is 3–2. Engage in service to the department, college, university, and professional community. Conduct active scholarship or creative activity in the candidate’s specialization; receive support for scholarship through start‑up, department, and college funds. Required Qualifications
Terminal degree (or foreign equivalent) in English or a related discipline, obtained at the time of hire. Research or creative specialization in AI and interactive media. Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of a high‑impact scholarly or creative agenda in applied and technical writing. Specialization in computational linguistics or computational humanities as they relate to interactive media, with interests in storytelling, AI ethics, and human–AI interaction. Interdisciplinary experience working across humanities and computational science departments. Experience with community‑writing, service learning, work‑based learning pedagogies. Vision for expanding the impact of English Studies through the discipline. Experience teaching in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities. Required Documents to Attach
