Job Description Prepare detailed drawings of civil/site designs for the company. Coordinate design with site construction management and engineering teams, including permitting and town codes for site design. Report to the Director of the Right to Build Department. Communicate with civil engineers, project managers, leasing agents, construction management, and executive personnel to determine work design information and details. The role interfaces closely with the Leasing Department and Site Construction Management Department and assists in resolving issues such as surveying, engineering, and environmental concerns.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare proposed site layout plans for commercial properties, reviewing municipal code requirements from general information, sketches, tax maps, and aerials. Prepare site plans for existing properties using as-built surveys, aerial mapping, and municipal GIS data.
Prepare detailed engineering site plans for use by the construction department in preparing cost estimates; prepare detailed engineering plans for minor projects.
Prepare colored presentation plans for the management team, addressing permitting and town codes for site design. Assist in resolving construction issues such as surveying, engineering, and environmental matters.
Update tenant information on site plans and maximize square footage based on data from Right to Build, design, and leasing teams.
Analyze design requirements including landscape buffers, building setbacks, and recommend possible solutions or alternate construction.
Make changes for all site plan revisions requested by leasing, construction personnel, and executives. Review aerial or site drawings and prepare plans for retail, commercial, and industrial builds with a focus on civil design in groundwater, sewer, roadways, parking lots, and utilities.
Perform field visits to evaluate sites for conceptual planning.
Evaluate zoning and environmental code requirements with the RTB department to ensure adherence to codes and regulations.
Maintain Right to Build department drawing files and layering system.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience preparing site plans and engineering drawings for commercial retail buildings, with a focus on civil design in groundwater, sewer, roadways, parking lots, and utilities.
Experience in AutoCAD 2024 required; experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Adobe Photoshop preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in photography imagery is a plus.
