Overview

Georgia Tech is a leading public research university committed to innovation, diversity, and community. The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering partners with Emory University to pursue cutting‑edge research and education. This role supports web‑based applications that serve the department and the broader institution.

Job Summary

Responsible for advanced level development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of all facets of web‑based application systems for a campus unit. May serve as project lead on applications impacting multiple units and provide work direction to Web Developers. The position will interact consistently with management and staff within assigned units and the Office of Information Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct web‑based applications development and implementation consistent with unit needs.
  • Maintain assigned applications, providing issue resolution in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all required documentation related to unit web applications.
  • Provide direction and leadership for web‑related project assignments.
  • Prepare project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare formal and informal status reports and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Six to eight years of job‑related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of CMS systems including Drupal and WordPress.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with hosting platforms including Pantheon, Plesk, etc.
  • Experience with webpage design, UX/UI, SEO, GA4/Google Analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, and SQL.
  • Solid experience in coding with strong knowledge in semantic HTML, CSS, Accessibility, and web frameworks.

Salary

63,158 - 80,000 (commensurate with experience)

Skills & Abilities

Configuration and deployment of web applications, database design, web‑based scripting languages, web standards. Project management, leadership, presentation, customer service, and problem solving.
