POSITION DESCRIPTION

As the Technical Writer at Hanwha Q CELLS America, you will assist with the planning, implementation, and review of all internal and external documentation that relates to the performance and release of new products such as Inverters, Batteries, EV Chargers, MLPE, and other hardware/software items into a seamless system‑level solution. You will also work closely with the sales and marketing teams on technical marketing, competitor analysis, and customer support in North America. This role serves as the interface between the factories and the customers, ensuring customers’ expectations regarding product quality and technical support are met. The position reports to the Head of Systems Engineering or another senior management person designated by the President. It is based in‑office Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am to 6:00 pm local time, and requires up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Pre‑Sales support to the residential sales team, providing application‑related documentation and assisting customers in project design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and warranty coverage.
  • Review, improve, manage, and release all technical documents, documentation library, and review prior to market release—data sheets, installation/operation manuals, quick‑start guides, brochures, and other technical documents, including support of Software UI/UX tools and documenting step‑by‑step processes for mobile Apps.
  • Manage projects, report progress to cross‑functional teams, and provide basic product training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide product training and promote Q CELLS solutions to customers and the sales team; represent Q CELLS at trade shows and conferences.
  • Stay up to date on PV/ESS technologies and industry trends by participating in technical meetings and industry shows.
  • Take assignments with a sense of urgency; deliver solutions and results in a timely manner; maintain a can‑do mentality, pro‑active working attitude, and hands‑on approach.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science or Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Technical Writing for Residential PV or Energy solutions.
  • Background in defining, reviewing online and print copy documentation.
  • Good communication skills with customers, management, and internal teams.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or background with Residential PV and Battery Energy Solutions is desirable.
  • Experience in managing release of documentation to market.
  • Extensive experience working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong professional integrity and sense of ownership of assignments.
  • Self‑motivated with a proven track record of reliability and work ethic.
  • Good business acumen; strong sense of technical issues, customer service, and business result relationships.
  • Flexible, team‑player, attention‑to‑detail, pro‑active, and responsible working attitudes.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.

This target salary range is for CA positions only and should not be interpreted as an offer of compensation.
