Instructional Designer (Adult Learning Theory)
Looking for an experienced Instructional Designer with strong e-learning expertise and deep knowledge of adult learning theory. This role involves designing engaging learning content, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve performance and business outcomes.
Work Schedule:
8 a.m. – 5 p.m. MST
Onsite Requirement:
3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
Max Pay Rate:
$35.00/Hourly
Project Duration:
6+ Months Contract
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain engaging learning programs and materials for various departments.
Align all training materials with brand guidelines for a consistent learner experience.
Recommend effective learning solutions that address performance gaps and business needs.
Create digital and instructor-led content to support both e-learning and live training.
Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define goals and success metrics.
Manage multiple instructional design projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
Track and analyze learning metrics, engagement, and effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
Work independently while maintaining regular communication with project teams.
Facilitate training sessions or workshops as needed.
Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM.
Develop learning objectives, assessments, and activities that strengthen knowledge and skills.
Design learning experiences that enhance confidence, competence, and job performance.
Use feedback and data to refine programs and align with operational goals and compliance needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality and scalable training solutions.
Contribute to standardized design templates and best practices within Learning & Development.
Required Skills and Tools
Proficiency in Asana, Docebo, Articulate Rise 360, Storyline, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and graphic design tools.
Strong understanding of e-learning design and adult learning theory.
Practical knowledge of instructional design methodologies and blended learning strategies.
Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences.
Excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Team and Process Information
Team consists of 2 Learning & Development professionals and 3 Quality Assurance analysts.
Interview process likely includes 2–3 one-on-one interviews.
Candidates must be local to Draper, Utah.
