Studio Emblem & Co. is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join its growing design team. An ideal candidate will have a refined design sensibility, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for high-end residential interiors. The Designer will contribute to the creation of a project’s comprehensive interiors scheme from conception to completion, facilitating all creative, technical, budgetary, and operational facets of the interior design package.
Responsibilities
Conduct or implement site surveys and prepare base drawings.
Contribute to ideation of a project’s theme, character, design vocabulary, and mood.
Research creative resources, ideas, historical precedents, materials, furnishings, and finishes to ensure innovative solutions.
Develop technical drawings including floor plans, electrical plans, RCPs, finish plans, and millwork drawings.
Develop and maintain finish schedules and specifications.
Produce and review custom millwork and furniture drawings.
Develop design presentations in InDesign.
Develop furniture layouts and FF&E selections, including specifications of products and materials.
Assist with development of FF&E budgets.
Manage procurement process, including requesting vendor quotes, developing client proposals, issuing purchase orders, and expediting.
Oversee deliveries and project installs.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience at a residential design firm focused on high-end residential interiors.
Degree in interior design, architecture, or related field from an accredited school.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with SketchUp, Rhino, or Enscape is a plus.
Strong knowledge of furnishings, finishes, materials, and design detailing.
Experience with FF&E procurement processes and budget management.
Capacity to work in a fast‑paced team environment and handle multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to balance independent work and collaboration with the team.
Critical thinking and proactive problem‑solving skills.
Exceptional communication skills with proactive follow‑through.
Highly organized, deadline‑oriented with attention to detail.
Outstanding graphic presentation skills.
Curiosity to discover new and creative products, resources, and technologies to support thoughtful, forward‑thinking design solutions.
